  • I need support, but I’m not a child. Can you still help?

    Yes, we can.

    We offer support through a Educational Support Specialist and charge under - Capacity Building: Other Professional for individuals over the age of nine. This is goal-oriented support designed to help you achieve your individual goals.

  • I just need help with a one thing. Can you still help?

    Yes we can.

    We have an option for task-orientated support, which means if you just want help with one thing we can work with you to build your capacity in that one area.

  • I don't have diagnosis - but think I might. Can you help?

    We may be able to.

  • I don’t have NDIS funding, but I have a diagnosis. Can you help me?

    Yes, we can!

    Please reach out to us for a free initial 15-minute consultation. We can discuss your needs and provide guidance and support to access the NDIS if you’re eligible.

  • Where do therapies take place?

    We can provide therapies wherever they are needed, as long as we have approval to attend the location.

    Examples include: home, school, workplace, local community.

  • I don’t feel like I’m achieving any of my NDIS goals. Can you help?

    Yes.

    We will first review your goals to ensure they are measurable and aligned with your desired outcomes.

    From there, we’ll work with your existing supports or help build a team that can better support you in achieving those goals.

    Collaboration through a key worker is the model of support we like to work with in this space.

  • My child has their first NDIS plan, and I’m not sure how to use it. Can you help?

    Absolutely!

    As Early Childhood Professionals, we are here to build your understanding of the NDIS, engage the required supports, and lead the support team to ensure your child has the necessary assistance to reach their goals.

    With our expertise in the NDIS, we can connect you with the right supports, provide goal-based therapy and review the adequacy of your plan, offering guidance where needed.

  • I already have an Occupational Therapist. Is your service the same thing?

    No.

    Occupational therapy focuses on therapeutic interventions, such as improving motor function, incorporating rehabilitative strategies and adding in adaptive equipment to assist in building functional living skills.

    In contrast, we are trained in developmental support, focusing on social skills, communication, and developmental daily life skills. Our therapy is education focused and goal-oriented for both families and the individual, designed to achieve specific outcomes aligned with your NDIS goals, while promoting life-long skillsets.

    We work collaboratively with the entire care team (including the OT) to avoid overlap and provide guidance to ensure your NDIS funding is utilised effectively to best meet your goals.

    In some cases an OT may not even be needed in the model we provide.

  • Is your service the same as a Support Coordinator?

    No.

    While our role covers some aspects of support coordination (usually in the initial stages), to build your capacity to understand and utilise your plan effectively. If we identify on-going support coordination is necessary, we can support in gathering the required evidence to assist you in applying for this additional service through the NDIS.

    A Support Coordinator helps you connect with various supports and services and acts as a liaison between you and providers, including the National Disability Insurance Agency.

    Our service provides direct interventions, focusing on capacity building in skill development, assistance with behaviour support and promotes personal growth.

  • I don’t have support coordination, but I don’t know how to use my plan. Can you provide some direction?

    Absolutely.

    We offer capacity-building support in this area, to help you understand and utilise your plan effectively.

    If support coordination is necessary, we can assist in gathering the required evidence to apply for this additional service through the NDIS.

  • My child is having difficulty engaging in tasks at school. Can you help?

    Definitely!

    Our extensive experience in education equips us with tools and strategies to enhance your child’s ability to engage in non-preferred tasks for longer durations. We provide goal-oriented therapy tailored to your child’s unique needs.

  • I don’t feel my child’s needs are being met by their school. Can you help?

    Yes.

    We can advocate for your child’s needs, assess their school environment, and work to ensure their needs are met within an inclusive framework. If the current setup isn’t sufficient, we will advocate for and support any necessary changes including exploring alternative learning environments or distance education or home school.

  • I have a goal of employment but don’t have employment funding. Can you help?

    Most certainly.

    We can assist in building employable skills through capacity-building support.

    If employment funding is required, we can guide you through the process of gathering the necessary evidence and applying for additional NDIS funding.

  • Can you provide evidence for an NDIS review or change of situation?

    Yes, we provide a variety of reports and evidence for NDIS reviews.

    We incorporate both formal and informal assessment techniques which are tailored to individual needs, to ensure we are providing evidence-based recommendations to the National Disability Agency for future funding.

    If you require a specific assessment, please reach out to discuss your needs further.

  • Will you help me find providers to engage with?

    Yes. We can assist with providing recommendations for providers to engage with, but we do it from a holistic approach.

    We look at the what is currently in place and make informed decisions around what provider would best be suited to support in the situation, avoiding overlap in services to save on funding.

    We work collaboratively with individuals or their representatives to build their capacity in choosing high-quality service providers and ensuring it is their choice and control around all decisions made.
