At The Connection Boutique, we celebrate who you are & support you to grow with confidence.
Community-Based Therapist Assistant Program
At The Connection Boutique, we believe capacity building should happen in the places where life truly occurs. Our Community-Based Therapy Assistant Program is designed to build skills where they matter most - in everyday life! It brings learning, confidence, independence, and connection into real-world environments - homes, parks, workplaces, playgrounds, and community spaces, where skills naturally grow.
We focus on what truly matters:
Growing skills that fit your life
Understanding your unique goals and needs
Building independence in familiar environments
Celebrating your identity, differences, and strength
“Learn who you are, love who you are, and feel confident letting your true self shine wherever you go.”
How Sessions Build Capacity
After your initial onboarding session, our Therapy Assistants begin delivering sessions in your home or local community under the guidance and professional oversight of an Early Childhood Professional or Occupational Therapist. This ensures every session is safe, purposeful, and aligned with your personalised Support Plan.
Individuals might practise going to the shops, paying for items, navigating footpaths, using public equipment, joining community activities, transitioning between places, or managing unexpected changes in routine.
They may work on communication through conversations with familiar staff at local venues, strengthen emotional regulation using calming strategies during busy environments, or build social confidence by practising turn-taking and interaction in supported settings.
At home, sessions might focus on daily routines such as organising belongings, completing simple chores, following step-by-step instructions, or developing independence in tasks that build pride and capability.
Our real-world model supports growth across foundational life skills such as communication, social interaction, emotional understanding, and flexible thinking. Individuals are given the opportunity to learn to move through daily living demands by practising routines, transitions, community navigation, and self-advocacy in environments they already interact with.
Each session is carefully shaped around the individuals’s interests, strengths, sensory needs, goals, and ways of learning. This creates a support experience that feels respectful, empowering, and deeply connected to real life, helping to build skills they can use confidently beyond the session.
“A fun, inclusive way to build capacity and confidence”.
We’d love to learn more about you and how we can support development in a fun and meaningful way.
