Our passion for The Connection Boutique comes from a very real place. Our lives, our families and our professional experience have given us a front-row seat to disability, difference, learning and the importance of truly understanding the person in front of you.
We have seen personally and professionally how powerful it can be when someone understands themselves and has people around them who understand them too. We have also seen what can happen when that understanding isn't there, when needs go unrecognised, or when someone spends years trying to navigate a world without really understanding why some things feel harder for them than they do for others.
Those experiences have shaped what we believe deeply. We want the people we support to grow in their understanding of themselves, their strengths, their needs and what works for them. We want families to feel understood and supported, and we want the people around them to work together rather than in isolation.
TCB brings together what we have lived, what we have learned through education and disability support, and what the people we work alongside continue to teach us every day.
This isn't simply the work we chose to do. It's work that matters to us because we've lived enough of it to know why it matters.
